This is who we are
HPI is working to inspire and create opportunities for positive contributions to our picture of humanity. We are doing this through documentary film and experiential learning trips for personal and international discovery.
Close We like the definition of initiative as it speaks to our vision of being proactive in making positive contributions and changes within our local context, our larger world community and ourselves. The word initiative implies outcome without completion, thereby leaving space for ongoing possibilities. Those ongoing possibilities are what inspire us in our work.
The Human Picture Initiative is working to find and share stories of inspiration through film. Our hope is to offer those who become a part of our projects, either by watching our movies or coming with us for a first person HPI experience, a chance to connect with a big world picture that resonates at the core of personal experience.
Life In Relief is a documentary series following unique individuals as they live and work in some of the world's most difficult, humanitarian emergencies.

Since we spend a lot of time working around the world, we believe it is essential to do something positive in our local community. Our hometown of Springfield, MO supports us and sustains our "base camp". So, it is here that we decided to get involved with one of our favorite things: food!
